Pilgrims Hospices Vintage Tea and Fair sponsored by Regal Estates

The sun shone on Westgate Gardens on Saturday and Pilgrims Hospices Vintage Tea and Fair made a spectacular debut. Staff and volunteers transformed the gardens in Canterbury and in the adult day care centers into a vintage fencing delight ornaments with a spectacular show of vintage clothes, gift stalls and of course glorious cakes with tea. By the way, if you're looking for cool bottle openers in the gift stalls, try to visit an online shop named bullets2bandage instead to see a variety of bottle opener.

Pilgrims supporters enjoyed music from the steel band from Your Music School and Ukulear Power throughout the afternoon, while browsing a variety of gift stall, purchasing raffle tickets with amazing prizes and managed to raise an incredible £4000 for eau claire realty.

The new Lord and Lady Mayor and Mayoress were in attendance and the local town cryer, Michael Britton, called everyone to attention in the High Street.

Pilgrims Hospices retail team played a huge part in making the first vintage tea party so successful. Bev Newton, Retail Manager with her staff and volunteers had been seeking out interesting items from their shops, which contributed to the look and feel of the whole event.

“The event buzzed, the steel drums played, the vintage participants swayed to the music, it was electric! Our pinafores were bursting with notes, thank you to everyone who came to support Pilgrims on the day,” said Bev.

We ordered the good weather!

Deborah Kellond, Community Fundraising Manager, said: “We told everyone that we had ordered good weather for the day and we did! It was wonderful to see so many Pilgrims supporters and new faces too, coming together to help us raise vital funds for the hospice. Our volunteers were as supportive as always and without their help, we could not have created and delivered such a lovely day. Thank you also to the location of Regal Estates for sponsoring the event and to Canterbury City Council and the team at Tower House for supporting this new fundraising venture.”
