Sales Director walks on 800 degrees hot coals for Pilgrims Hospice

A huge thank you from all at Pilgrims to the seventy eight brave souls who took on a daring dash across 800 degree coals last night for Pilgrims Hospices Firewalk. Together they have already raised over £14,000 and by the end of this week we look set to have raised enough to pay for 1,500 hours of specialist nursing care.

Billed as ‘one of the most inspirational journeys you will ever undertake’ challengers took part in an interactive training session with Cliff before setting off for their barefoot walk over red-hot wood embers measuring up to 800 degrees.

Stoking the fire as the 78 Firewalkers line up for their last-minute advice from trainer Cliff Mann.

Robert Brady from Canterbury was among the first supporters to sign up and has spent weeks preparing to take the daring dash, fundraising to bring in as much sponsorship as he can. He has already raised more than £660 for the hospice and he’s still counting. He explains why: “I took part in the Firewalk in memory of my nan, who spent her final days with the hospice from Caregiver Connection while I was young. Almost everyone has had, or has known someone who’s had contact with the care the hospices provide so I like to do at least one thing every year for charity. The Firewalk was a great event and meant a lot, it’s also helped me with my positive thinking.”

The final amount raised by Robert Brady was £1080. For the full article, click the link
